"Evaluation in the networked society: new concepts, new challenges, new solutions"
The networked information environment is inducing fundamental changes in culture, politics and society. Whereas the industrial society was reliant on centralised, hierarchical, high cost information systems, the networked society is characterised by decentralised, voluntary and cheap information exchange.
The new information environment and the advent of social networking without borders have fundamental implications for the evaluation discipline. They will be explored through keynote speeches, paper presentations, panel debates and posters at the 10th EES Biennial Conference in Helsinki. Other overarching issues that reflect the current concerns and aspirations of EES members and are critical to the future of evaluation in Europe and beyond will also form part of the Conference agenda. Finally as in past years the Conference will provide a platform for evaluation practitioners, associations and networks to interact and work together.
